Overview

The Accounts page is the list of every company your organisation sells to or tracks. Use it to find an account, see its deal footprint at a glance, and open it in the Account Cockpit. You also create new accounts from here. Editing and deleting happen from the account itself.

Where to find it

  • In the sidebar, click Accounts. The page lives at /crm/accounts.
  • A tab bar at the top of the page links the four Accounts views:
    • Portfolio — this list of accounts.
    • Value & Impact — what you promised each customer against the evidence of what was delivered. See Value → Impact.
    • Account Intelligence — account health, concentration and expansion views across the portfolio. See Account Intelligence.
    • Contacts — the people at your accounts. See Contacts.
  • Portfolio stays highlighted while you create an account or work inside one.

Page layout

The heading Accounts sits on the left. These controls sit on the right:

  • Card View / Table View — two icon buttons that switch the layout. The page opens in table view.
  • Show Filters / Hide Filters — opens or closes the filters panel.
  • New Account — opens the create form (see Creating an account below).

Table view

Each row is one account. The columns are:

  • Account Name — click it to open the account’s cockpit.
  • Industry.
  • Website — opens the site in a new tab.
  • Owner — the account owner’s username.
  • Pipeline — the combined value of all the account’s opportunities, including won and lost deals. It reads No pipeline when the account has no opportunity value. For the open pipeline only, open the account; its header shows Open pipeline.
  • Opps — the number of opportunities on the account, open and closed.
  • Created and Updated — when the account record was created and last changed.

On narrower screens, Industry, Website, Opps and Created are hidden to keep the table readable.

Sorting

Click any column heading to sort by it. The first click sorts ascending; click again to reverse. A small arrow marks the column you’re sorting by. By default, the newest accounts appear first.

Card view

Each card shows the account name (a link to the cockpit), its industry and website, and when it was last updated. Underneath are three figures: Total Pipeline (the same all-opportunities value as the table’s Pipeline column), Opportunities and Win Rate. Win Rate shows N/A when the account has no closed deals. The footer shows the Owner and a View details → link.

Pagination

When your accounts run to more than one page, controls appear below the list. They show a summary such as Showing 1 to 10 of 61 results, a Show: choice of 10, 25, 50 or 100 per page, and Previous / Next. The list shows 10 accounts per page to start with. Changing the page size takes you back to page 1.

Filtering the list

Click Show Filters to open the panel. It has:

  • Search — Search by name, industry, or website... Matches any part of the account name, industry or website.
  • Industry — All Industries, or one of Technology, Healthcare, Finance, Retail, Manufacturing, Education, Real Estate, Consulting, Media, Transportation, Energy or Other. This matches accounts whose industry is exactly that value.
  • Owners — tick one or more people to see only the accounts they own.
  • Created Date Range — a start and an end date.
  • Last Updated Date Range — a start and an end date.

Your choices only take effect when you click Apply Filters. Pressing Enter in the search box does nothing. Reset clears every filter and reloads the full list. Applying or resetting filters takes you back to page 1.

Finding an account

  1. Open Accounts from the sidebar.
  2. Click Show Filters, type part of the name, industry or website into Search, and click Apply Filters.
  3. Narrow further with Owners or the date ranges if you need to, then click Apply Filters again.
  4. Click a column heading to sort the results.
  5. Click the account name to open its cockpit.

Creating an account

Click New Account on the list, or Create your first account when the list is empty. The Create New Account page opens. A note at the top explains that required fields carry a red asterisk, and that the account name and location are required for every account.

Fields

  • Account Name (required).
  • Owner (required) — pick a member of your organisation. Whatever you pick here, the new account is created with you as its owner. To hand it to someone else, open the account and change Owner with Edit.
  • Industry — free text, for example Technology, Healthcare or Finance. Use the same wording as the Industry filter’s list if you want the filter to find the account.
  • Website — include the full address with https:// or http://.
  • Account Description.
  • Account Type — Prospect (the default), Customer, Partner or Competitor.
  • Geographic Information — Country, State/Province and City, all required.
  • Company Information — Annual Revenue (a number, entered without symbols or commas) and Number of Employees (a whole number). Both are optional.

Choosing a country

As you type in Country, the box suggests recognised country names. Pick one of them. If what you’ve typed isn’t a recognised country, a warning appears under the box: Not a recognised country. This account won’t count toward any market until it’s fixed. Regional and market views, such as the operating view by region, group accounts by recognised country.

Steps

  1. Click New Account.
  2. Enter the Account Name and choose an Owner.
  3. Fill in Country (choose a suggestion), State/Province and City.
  4. Add any optional details and set Account Type.
  5. Click Create Account. The button reads Saving... while it works, and the new account opens in its cockpit.

Click Cancel to go back to the list without saving.

Validation messages

  • Account name is required, Owner is required, Country is required, State/Province is required, City is required.
  • Please enter a valid URL — the website is missing https:// or isn’t a web address.
  • Annual revenue must be a positive number and Employee count must be a positive whole number.

Editing an account

  1. Open the account from the list.
  2. Click Edit in the account header. The page switches to Edit account, showing the same form filled in with the account’s details.
  3. Make your changes. This is where you change the Owner.
  4. Click Update Account. The account’s cockpit returns with your changes. Click Cancel to leave without saving.

If the save fails, you’ll see Failed to update account. Please try again.

Deleting an account

Deleting an account also deletes its contacts and opportunities. It can’t be undone.

  1. Open the account and click Edit.
  2. Below the form, click Delete account.
  3. Confirm the dialog: Are you sure you want to delete this account? This action cannot be undone.
  4. You return to the Accounts list with the notice Account deletion started. The account will disappear once background cleanup completes. The account is already removed from the list you’re looking at.

The deletion finishes in the background. Until it does, the account may still appear in other views. If the request fails, you’ll stay on the edit page with Failed to delete account. Please try again.

Loading, empty and error states

  • Loading — a spinner shows while the list loads.
  • Empty — No accounts found. with a Create your first account button. You’ll also see this when your filters match nothing.
  • Error — Failed to load accounts. Please try again. Close the message and reload the page.
  • Create page — Failed to load data. Please try again. if the form can’t load your organisation’s members, and Failed to create account. Please try again. if saving fails.

Troubleshooting

  • I can’t find an account I know exists. Click Reset in the filters panel, then search for part of the name. The Industry filter only matches the exact industry wording. If an account’s industry was typed differently, search for it instead.
  • My filters didn’t change anything. Click Apply Filters; changes in the panel aren’t applied until you do.
  • The new account lists me as owner. New accounts are always owned by the person who creates them. Open the account, click Edit and choose the right Owner.
  • The Pipeline figure looks higher than the open pipeline. The list’s Pipeline column includes won and lost deals. The account header’s Open pipeline counts open deals only.
  • The account doesn’t show up in regional views. Check its Country. If the form shows the “Not a recognised country” warning, choose a suggested country name and click Update Account.
  • There are no page controls. They only appear when there is more than one page of results.
