Opportunities: Find, Filter & Create Deals
Find any deal fast: search, filter and sort the Opportunities list, read the pipeline summary and Win% badges, and create new opportunities.
Overview
The Opportunities page lists every deal in your organisation. Use it to see the open pipeline at a glance, narrow the list to the deals you care about, and open any deal in its cockpit. You can also create new deals from here.
Where to find it
- In the sidebar, open Deals → Opportunities. The page lives at
/crm/opportunities. - The tab bar at the top of the page reads Flow · Velocity · Opportunities. Use it to jump between the pipeline views (Pipeline Explorer and Pipeline Velocity) and this list.
- Some Revenue Engine links, and some links from accounts and contacts, open this page already filtered (see Arriving from the Revenue Engine below).
Page layout
The page has a heading, Opportunities, with these controls beside it:
- Search deals... — a search box that matches the deal name or the account name. Results update as you type.
- The Card View / Table View toggle (two icon buttons).
- Show Filters / Hide Filters — opens or closes the filters panel.
- New Opportunity — opens the form for creating a deal.
Below the controls you’ll find the pipeline summary bar, then the filters panel (when it’s open), then the list itself.
The pipeline summary bar
The bar gives you a quick read of your open pipeline:
- Pipeline — the total value of all open deals (every deal not in Closed Won or Closed Lost).
- Deals — how many open deals there are.
- Weighted — the sum of each open deal’s value multiplied by its win probability.
- This month — how many open deals have a close date in the current calendar month.
- A coloured stage bar showing how the open deals split across stages. Hover over a segment to see the stage, its deal count and its value. On wide screens, a legend lists the count for each stage.
Important: the summary bar always covers all open deals in your organisation. It doesn’t change when you search or filter the list, so treat it as your organisation-wide baseline rather than a total of the rows you’re looking at.
Table and card views
Table view
Table view is the default on desktop. Its columns are:
- Opportunity — the deal name, which links to the deal’s cockpit. A yellow Strategic badge marks deals flagged as strategic.
- Account — links to the account.
- Stage — a colour-coded stage badge.
- Date — the expected close date.
- Amount — the final price after any discount. Discounted deals show a line such as 15% off; hover over it to see the list price.
- Win% — the win probability badge (see The Win% badge below).
- Forecast — the forecast category (Omitted, Pipeline, Best Case, Commit or Closed).
- Type — New (new business), Renew (renewal) or Expand (expansion).
- Owner — the deal owner.
On narrower screens some columns are hidden. Account and Owner need a wide window, and Forecast and Type need an extra-wide one. Switch to card view if you need everything on a small screen.
Card view
Card view is the default on phones. Each card shows the deal name, the win probability badge, stage and forecast badges, the amount (with any discount), the account, the Close date and the owner. When there’s no model prediction, the card also shows a Manual estimate line. Closed Lost deals show their Lost reason. Click the deal name or View details → to open the cockpit.
Sorting
In table view, click any column heading to sort by it. Click it again to reverse the order; an arrow beside the heading shows the direction. By default the list is sorted by close date, soonest first. Sorting by Win% orders the deals shown on the current page by their displayed win probability.
The filters panel
Click Show Filters to open the panel. Changes in the panel don’t take effect until you click Apply Filters. Click Reset to clear every filter and return to the full list.
- Search — the same name-or-account search as the box in the page header.
- Account — pick one account, or leave it on All Accounts.
- Stage — Qualification, Discovery, Proposal, Negotiation, Closed Won or Closed Lost, or All Stages.
- Close Date Range — a start date and an end date.
- Amount Range — Min amount and Max amount. These compare against the list price before any discount.
- Owners — tick one or more team members.
- Forecast Categories — tick any of Omitted, Pipeline, Best Case, Commit and Closed.
- Strategic Account — All, Strategic Only or Non-Strategic.
Applying or resetting filters takes you back to page 1.
The Win% badge
The badge shows how likely the deal is to close:
- Colour: green at 70% or above, yellow from 40% to 69%, and red below 40%.
- Source: when your organisation’s win-probability model has a prediction for the deal, the badge shows it. Otherwise it falls back to the win probability entered on the deal (the manual estimate).
- Ring: a grey ring around the badge means the figure comes from the model and the model reported a confidence level for it. Manual estimates and industry-benchmark figures have no ring.
- Tooltip: hover over the badge for detail. Model figures show ML Win Probability and, where available, the confidence, training data and model accuracy. A benchmark figure (shown while the model is still being built) shows Industry Benchmark and Building ML model.... A manual figure shows Manual Estimate.
The deal cockpit’s Win probability signal shows the probability entered on the deal. When the model has a prediction, the list’s Win% and the cockpit’s figure can therefore differ.
Arriving from the Revenue Engine
Some links on the Revenue Engine open this list already filtered to a stage. Examples include the Won node on the flow canvas and Stage Inspector buttons such as Review won deals, Review lost deals and Review late-stage deals. When you arrive this way:
- The filters panel opens automatically so you can see which filter was applied.
- The Stage filter is set (for example Closed Won, Closed Lost or Negotiation). For an “open pipeline” link, the Forecast Categories Omitted, Pipeline, Best Case and Commit are ticked instead.
- Click Reset to clear the filter and see every deal.
Links from an account or contact can also open the list filtered to that account. The Account filter shows which one.
Creating an opportunity
Every opportunity belongs to an account. If your organisation has no accounts yet, the form is replaced by the message You need to create an account before adding opportunities. and a Create an account link.
- Click New Opportunity. Alternatively, on an account’s Pipeline tab, click Add opportunity to start with that account already selected.
- On the Create New Opportunity page, fill in the required fields:
- Account
- Owner (defaults to you)
- Opportunity Name
- Stage
- Add the commercial details:
- List Price and Currency. Leave Currency on Org reporting currency to use your organisation’s default.
- Discount (%). Final Price is calculated for you.
- Contract Term (Months).
- Add the forecast details: Expected Close Date (optional), Win Probability (%), Forecast Category and Opportunity Type (New Business, Renewal or Expansion). Choosing Closed Won or Closed Lost as the stage sets the forecast category to Closed or Lost. A Lost Reason field appears for Closed Lost.
- Write a short Opportunity Description: the initial context of what the customer wants to achieve. Log progress updates as activity in the deal’s Activity tab instead, where they feed the AI scoring.
- Optionally tick Mark as Strategic Opportunity.
- Click Create Opportunity. The new deal’s cockpit opens. Click Cancel to go back to the list (or to the account, if you started there).
To learn what you can do once the deal exists, see the Opportunity Cockpit guide.
Pagination
The list shows 25 deals per page. When there’s more than one page, controls at the bottom show Showing x to y of z results, with Previous / Next buttons and a Show: selector for 10, 25, 50 or 100 deals per page.
Loading, empty and error states
- Loading: a spinner shows while the list loads.
- No results: No opportunities found. with a Create your first opportunity link. If you have filters or a search applied, clear them first.
- Error: Failed to load opportunities. Please try again. You can dismiss the message; refresh the page to retry.
- Summary bar missing: if the pipeline summary can’t load, the bar is simply hidden and the list still works.
- Onboarding: if you’re working through onboarding, an Opportunity Details Checked summary may pop up a few seconds after the list loads.
- New Opportunity errors: Failed to load data. Please try again. if accounts or team members can’t load. Failed to create opportunity. Please try again. or Please check all fields and try again. if saving fails.
Common workflows
Triage this month’s deals
- Open Deals → Opportunities and check This month in the summary bar.
- Click Show Filters, set Close Date Range to this month, tick the Owners you’re reviewing, and click Apply Filters.
- Click Win% to bring the weakest deals on the page to the top.
- Open each deal from its name and work through its cockpit.
Review your commit
- Open the filters panel and tick only Commit under Forecast Categories.
- Click Apply Filters, then sort by Date to see which commits close first.
- Check that each deal’s close date and Win% still look right.
Troubleshooting
- The summary bar totals don’t match my filtered list. That’s expected: the bar always covers every open deal in your organisation.
- A column is missing. Widen the window, or switch to card view.
- My filter changes didn’t do anything. Click Apply Filters; panel changes aren’t applied until you do.
- The list is filtered and I don’t know why. You probably arrived from a Revenue Engine or account link. Open the filters panel and click Reset.
- Win% differs from the cockpit. The list shows the model’s prediction when there is one; the cockpit shows the probability entered on the deal.
- I can’t see the page-size selector. It appears only when the results run to more than one page.
- New Opportunity won’t let me continue. Make sure you have at least one account, then fill every field marked with an asterisk.
