Overview
Teams and Roles are two related settings pages. Teams defines your reporting structure โ who sits on which team and who manages them. Roles assigns each user a functional role that shapes their home page, action plan, and digest. Together they make sure the right people see the right view and roll up correctly in analytics.
Team Management
Open the Teams card from the Settings hub, or go to /revenue-intelligence/settings/teams. The page organises sales teams and the reporting structure.
Views
- Hierarchy View โ the reporting tree, showing teams, managers, and member counts.
- List View โ a flat list of teams.
- Performance View โ teams alongside performance context.
Creating and managing teams
- Select Create Team and give the team a name.
- Assign a manager and add members.
- Use Hierarchy View to confirm the structure and member counts look right.
Functional Role Management
Open the Roles card from the Settings hub, or go to /revenue-intelligence/settings/roles. Assign each user the role that drives their home page, action plan, and digest content. The available roles are:
- Chief Revenue Officer โ full system visibility, strategic actions.
- VP of Sales โ team management and performance reviews.
- Sales Manager โ direct reports and pipeline reviews.
- RevOps Leader โ forecast hygiene, capacity, operational KPIs.
- Customer Success Leader โ renewals, expansion, account health.
- Sales Enablement Leader โ ramp, playbook adoption, win/loss insights.
- Individual Contributor โ individual quota and opportunities.
Assigning roles
- Find the person under Sales Team Members.
- Set their functional role.
- Their home page, action plan, and digest update to match the role.
How functional roles behave
- Each functional leader has their own home page, action plan, and digest.
- Sales leaders (CRO, VP, Manager) receive team-focused action plans.
- Functional leaders (RevOps, CS, Enablement) get persona-specific stubs in V1.
- Actions show actual user names once roles are assigned.
Troubleshooting
- Someone sees the wrong home page: check their functional role on the Roles page โ the role, not the team, drives the home view.
- A team shows 0 members: open the team and add members, or move them from another team.
- Action plans show no names: assign functional roles first; actions populate names once roles are set.
