MCP Integration: User Guide for Sales Teams

By Summit53 Team

Using Summit53 with AI Assistants

Once you have connected Summit53 to your AI assistant (see Setup Guide), you can query your CRM data using natural language. This guide covers practical workflows for sales leaders and account executives.

Summit53 provides 14 tools organized into six categories. You do not need to know the tool names β€” just describe what you need and the AI will select the right tool automatically.

Getting Started

After connecting, open a new conversation in your AI assistant and try one of these prompts to verify your connection:

  • "Show me my pipeline risk summary for this quarter"
  • "What deals do I have over $50k?"
  • "What should I focus on this week?"

The AI will call the appropriate Summit53 tool, retrieve your live CRM data, and present the results in a readable format. All data is read-only β€” the MCP integration cannot modify your CRM records.

Daily Workflows

Morning Pipeline Check

Start your day by understanding where your pipeline stands. These prompts give you a quick overview without opening the Summit53 dashboard:

  • "Give me an executive summary of our pipeline" β€” Calls the unified forecast summary with pipeline coverage, team metrics, and quota tracking.
  • "Which deals are at risk this quarter?" β€” Retrieves the pipeline risk summary with high-risk deals, risk distribution, and confidence levels.
  • "What's my weekly action plan?" β€” Returns prioritized tasks, risk summaries, and suggested actions for the week ahead.

Deal Review and Coaching

Drill into specific deals during 1:1s or pipeline reviews:

  • "Run MEDDPIC analysis on the Acme Corp deal" β€” Returns qualification framework scores for a specific opportunity.
  • "Show me the risk heatmap sorted by deal amount" β€” Paginated view of deal-level risk with scores, framework scores, and risk factors.
  • "What's the execution health for the Contoso account?" β€” Account-level health score with deal-level breakdown.

Forecast Preparation

Before forecast calls, gather the data you need in seconds:

  • "What's our forecast confidence this quarter?" β€” Confidence scores, rep performance, velocity, and quota coverage.
  • "Show me ARR growth trends over the last 12 months" β€” Total ARR, net retention rate, and growth stage classification.
  • "Generate an ARR growth narrative for the board" β€” AI-generated narrative with recommendations and stage transition insights.
  • "How are we tracking against quota?" β€” CRO/executive view of revenue intelligence with pipeline coverage and team metrics.

Account Management

Stay on top of your accounts without switching between tools:

  • "Which accounts are at risk?" β€” Account intelligence dashboard with health scores, at-risk accounts, and expansion candidates.
  • "Find accounts in the technology industry with over $1M revenue" β€” Filter and search accounts by industry, owner, and revenue.
  • "Which accounts haven't been touched in 30 days?" β€” Activity gap analysis to find neglected accounts that need attention.
  • "Research Acme Corp online" β€” Queues external web and news research for a specific account.

Advanced Usage

Combining Multiple Tools

AI assistants can chain multiple Summit53 tools in a single conversation to build comprehensive analyses. For example:

"Give me a full board prep: pipeline risk summary, forecast confidence, ARR growth narrative, and list any accounts with activity gaps over 14 days."

The AI will call four different tools and synthesize the results into a single, coherent briefing.

Filtering and Narrowing Results

Many tools support filtering parameters. You can be specific in your prompts:

  • "Show me deals in the negotiation stage over $100k"
  • "Find opportunities closing this month owned by Sarah"
  • "Show the risk heatmap for just the enterprise segment"

Using Results for Reports

You can ask the AI to format Summit53 data into specific output formats:

  • "Create a pipeline summary table I can paste into Slack"
  • "Format the forecast data as a bullet-point executive summary"
  • "Turn the risk heatmap into a prioritized action list for my team meeting"

Workflows by Role

Account Executives

As an AE, focus on these daily touchpoints:

  1. Morning: "What's my weekly action plan?" to see prioritized tasks
  2. Pre-meeting: "Run MEDDPIC on [deal name]" to prep for customer calls
  3. End of day: "Which of my accounts have activity gaps?" to catch neglected relationships

Sales Leaders

As a sales leader, use Summit53 MCP for team oversight and forecast calls:

  1. Weekly: "Show me the team pipeline risk summary" to identify deals needing attention
  2. Forecast prep: "What's our forecast confidence and how are we tracking against quota?"
  3. 1:1 prep: "Show [rep name]'s deals sorted by risk score" to prepare coaching points

CROs and Revenue Leaders

For executive-level visibility:

  1. Board prep: "Generate an ARR growth narrative with trends and recommendations"
  2. QBR: "Show me the unified forecast summary with pipeline coverage and quota tracking"
  3. Strategic: "Which accounts are expansion candidates vs at-risk?"

Tips for Best Results

  • Be specific with names. Use account or deal names when you have them β€” "Show health for Acme Corp" is better than "Show me account health".
  • Use time qualifiers. Include phrases like "this quarter", "last 30 days", or "closing this month" to narrow results.
  • Ask for explanations. After retrieving data, follow up with "What are the biggest risks here?" or "What should I do about the at-risk deals?" to get AI-powered analysis on top of Summit53 data.
  • Chain requests. You can ask multiple questions in one message. The AI will call each relevant tool and combine the results.

Security and Privacy

  • All connections use OAuth 2.0 β€” your password is never shared with the AI client.
  • Tokens are scoped to read-only access (crm:read, pipeline:read, revenue:read, actions:read). The MCP integration cannot create, update, or delete any CRM records.
  • Tokens expire after one year and can be revoked at any time from the Summit53 admin panel.
  • Data is transmitted over HTTPS and is not used for AI model training.
