Overview
The masthead is the header that sits at the very top of the Revenue Engine home screen (the root route /, also reachable at /revenue-engine). It gives every user โ whatever their persona โ the same one-glance read on the period: how much you are forecast to land, how that tracks against quota, and the vital signs underneath. Every KPI tile is a doorway: click it and a drill-down panel slides in with the detail behind the number.
This guide covers the masthead headline, the period selector, each KPI tile and its drill-down, the action buttons, and the supporting Forecast Rail, Quota Pacing and Forecast Gap Diagnosis panels that share the same period. For how the rest of the page adapts to your role, see the Revenue Engine Home: Persona Views guide.
The headline and pacing line
On the left of the masthead, under the REVENUE ENGINE label, the headline reads the period and your forecast of record โ for example, Q2 2026 ยท $4.2M forecast. If confidence in landing the period is low, the headline appends , in jeopardy so the risk is impossible to miss.
Directly below sits a pacing line that summarises where you are in the period: Day X of Y, the dollar gap to quota if one remains, and current pipeline coverage (for example coverage 3.2ร). When the period feed has not yet resolved, this line reads Period pacing pending instead.
The period selector
Next to the REVENUE ENGINE label is a compact period dropdown. It groups presets (such as the current and next quarter, the current month, and the full year) so you can switch the reporting window without leaving the page. The selector is the single control for the whole screen: change it once and the masthead, the Forecast Rail, the Quota Pacing and Forecast Gap panels, the Segment Operating View and the canvas all re-query for that period.
The KPI tiles
The centre of the masthead is a row of vital-sign tiles. The first tiles always appear; the later ones render once their feed is available, so at full width you may see up to seven:
- Forecast โ your forecast of record for the period, with an on track or in jeopardy status dot.
- Quota Attainment โ attainment as a percentage, with the remaining dollar gap ($X to go).
- Coverage โ pipeline coverage as a multiple, against the target (for example target 3ร); it turns red when coverage is below target.
- Win Rate โ overall win rate, with the sample it is drawn from (for example 14 of 96 deals).
- Lead Velocity โ the month-over-month lead-velocity rate, with the net-new count.
- NRR โ trailing-twelve-month net revenue retention; a status dot shows when it is at or above 100%.
- GRR โ gross revenue retention, flagged healthy, fair or at risk.
Before the ARR feed resolves, NRR and GRR are replaced by a single ARR Growthtile reading Pending; clicking it opens the ARR Growth Engine slide-out.
KPI drill-downs
Most tiles are clickable and open a focused drill-down panel from the right. Press Escor click the scrim to close it.
- Forecast โ Forecast Command โ the ML projection, confidence range and trend behind the forecast of record.
- Quota Attainment โ Quota Pacing โ progress, gap and team productivity for the period.
- Coverage โ Pipeline Health โ coverage, velocity and stage mix, with a pipeline health score.
- Win Rate โ Win Rate Trend โ the rate, the cohort it is based on, and the trend over time.
A fifth drill-down, Data Quality, is opened from the Data Quality entry on the Forecast Rail (below). It shows an overall score, per-field completeness bars and the top recommendations โ the same signal documented in the Data Quality Monitor guide.
Masthead actions
On the right of the masthead, four buttons sit in priority order:
- Weekly Review โ opens the Revenue Playbook slide-out, a guided walk through this periodโs priorities.
- Diagnostics โ opens the Revenue Mechanic panel; see the Diagnostics & the Action Brief guide.
- Glossary โ opens the Metric Glossary (below).
- Refresh โ re-pulls every feed on the page at once.
The Forecast Rail
On the wider three-column row beneath the canvas, the left rail expands the forecast picture for the period. It carries a confidence dial and a set of reconciling inputs, each with an explanatory tooltip:
- Landing Zone โ the projected range the period is expected to land within.
- Model (ML) โ the trained modelโs number, shown as a reconciling input, not the forecast of record.
- Manual Commit โ the bottoms-up sum of opportunities reps have placed in Commit.
- Exec Health โ an executive health read on the period.
- Data Quality โ opens the Data Quality drill-down described above.
- Risk Drag โ the drag risk is exerting on the forecast.
Quota Pacing and Forecast Gap Diagnosis
The right of that same row holds two compact panels. Quota Pacing shows where you are against quota and the pace required to close the gap. Forecast Gap Diagnosisbreaks down the difference between the forecast and the target, with info tooltips on each line and a Limited badge when the underlying data is too thin for a confident read.
The Metric Glossary
Every number on the Revenue Engine is defined in one place. The Glossary button opens the Metric Glossary reference panel, with a search box and grouped sections โ Masthead KPIs, Forecast Confidence, Health Signals, Pipeline Health Score, Capacity Planning, Revenue at Risk, Bowtie & Conversion Rates, ARR Growth Engine, Revenue Mechanic, Deal-Size Segmentation, Quota & Team Efficiency, Forecast Gap Diagnosis and Customer Success. Each entry explains what the metric means, how it is calculated and the source it draws from. Type a metric name into Search metricsโฆ to jump straight to its definition.
Troubleshooting
- A tile reads โPendingโ. That feed has not resolved yet. Give the page a moment after first load, or press Refresh. NRR and GRR in particular appear only once the ARR feed returns.
- โForecast feed unavailableโ. If the forecast feed drops while other panels are alive, a recoverable banner appears and the page keeps retrying automatically; use Retry now to force it. If nothing on the page has loaded, a full-screen error state offers a single Refresh.
- A KPI tile does not open a panel. Lead Velocity is informational and has no drill-down; Forecast, Quota, Coverage and Win Rate do.
